Re: Volcanic winter
We had the eruption of the Iceland volcano last summer. Cold winter --early on--in Europe (last month or two milder~Zurich warmer than around here).

Re: Volcanic winter
Now, if only this were an historically cold winter. It must drive you anti-science guys nuts to see climate follow the predictions made by climate change theory.
One day perhaps you'll learn the difference between weather and climate. But I doubt it.

Re: Volcanic winter
So true, since the global warming true believers trumpet any round of bad weather (hot, cold, wet or dry) as evidence that the climate is getting dramatically warmer, bringing about the melting of the polar ice caps, a 40 foot rise in sea level, and the end of all life as we know it on December 21, 2012.
In case you are wondering, a cubit is equivalent to .4572 meter or 45.72 centimeters.

Re: Volcanic winter
Just for those keeping score, 2010 tied for warmest year on record.
The 2012 thing is for the guys who haven't checked the science on the Mayan calendar. But it made for a fun movie.
And still weather patterns follow the climate change theories. Hmmmm....now....how do they make the weather fit their cockeyed theories? That must be one HELL of a giant government conspiracy. And to do it world wide too. Wow.

Re: Volcanic winter
Is there any weather event over the past few years that has not
fit the theories of global warming?
fit the theories of global warming?

Well, there's "cold Front" that caused the release of all those incriminating e-mails from E. Anglia U.
Then there was the hurricane that swept through Congress on the last election day.

Re: Volcanic winter
There are records going back far enough to prove that warming and cooling cycle extremes has been going on since the beginning of time, and especially LONG before the industrial revolution. As was mentioned earlier, that volcano last yer kept me from flying to Europe in the Spring, and now it's helping to make one of the snowiest seasons for Europe in a while. But Temps are just about the same for winter over there.

Re: Volcanic winter
If only the government would ban the private use of internal combustion engines, raise taxes, and make energy prices "necessarily skyrocket" so people can no longer afford to have all of this "stuff", then all of this damn global warming would magically reverse itself overnight.
Al Gore really is a genius. All of you simpletons are just too stupid to see it.
The polar bears stranded on meandering ice floes are not impressed with your lack of sensitivity.
Or your Escalade.
