West Virginia Tonight Live

Post by genlock »

West Virginia Media's production of news at 5:30 pm recently started airing on WOWK-TV in the Huntington/Charleston market.
The production seems crisp and fast paced with an experienced anchor, Dana Arquilla of Clarksburg's WBOY-TV.
Picture quality has improved (don't know what they did). Not very many mistakes are made.
Good use is made of assets from all over the state and this is a watchable show.
Some might say a little heavy on WVU but they are playing to their audience.
May be the newscast of the future for all of West Virginia Media stations in all time slots.

Didn't they do this once before, but couldn't keep advertisers? I thought they wanted to consolidate everything in Charleston.

Word on the street is Bergoo.

Has nothing to do with this thread.

I'm just letting you know that the word on the street is Bergoo...

what is bergoo? They wanted to make the news a round up from all the stations. but that didn't last long. took to much effort from everyone. statewide from 5:30 till 6:00 then all local stations. same news just local stations. as this was mostly repeats of the 5:30 no one tuned in to watch it earlier just the 6:00.

Never been the brightest bulp in the box so is Bergoo a reference to the unincorporated community in Webster County, West Virginia, United States Zip 26298? Bergoo lies at the confluence of the Elk River and Leatherwood Creek. Bergoo was formerly known as Leatherwood, taking its name from the creek. Or is it a more insider comment and I just miss it?

A new radio station is planned for the vicinity of Diana, WV.
I think Diana is near Bergoo.
