If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

Camera leaves reporter LIVE on TV-8

Post by chloesdude »

Just watching WCHS News at 11 and Rick sent it to Huntington Newsroom with Darrah Wilcox live, (which is always a hoot with a 10 second delay between the 2 cities)... but anyways the camera started tilting down and kept panning down until it was stairing at the floor, and then was rattled and shaken as the photog or whoever was running the camera tried to pick it up. They quickly rolled the tape...What is going on???

Camera unbalanced on head?
Cheap head with worn out pads?
or
Someone forgot to tighten the thing down properly.

Most likely all three.

More likely--automated camera. Controller goes nuts--tells camera to tilt down. So it does...all the way down.

Years ago they installed such a system at NBC...with bigger cameras, and the full-size dollies. One went off by itself and backed Tom Brokaw into a doorway.
