Wings Of Faith Ending

Post by JKF18 »

After 40 + years, it was announced that WDTV's local religious show Wings Of Faith is ending as of their New Year's Eve broadcast. Could this be one of the longest running local programs in the state?

No, but I'm sure WDTV would be more than happy to let you buy it!

I meant "have" as in "pay for having". We are Christian, you know.

Could just wait until the great end-times wealth transfer and then WDTV will be ours, anyway...

I was hoping you'd weigh in on this one, Scott...

One is tempted to laugh at some of these programs, but they serve a dedicated audience. If they're not supported, they die. It is doubtful that anyone will match that lady's longevity.

Scott, I hope you can get that air time and use it for the Lord's work. Alas, I won't be able to view it, not being able to get WDTV via Dish. That's another rant for another time, however.

It was on last night and several people said it was the last broadcast. The audio and camera work was horrible. Not making fun of it, but come on, the TV station could do better than that. You will never see so many Martin D-28 guitars in one place, unless of course, you are at a bluegrass festival.

Two thoughts.

1. Sometimes for a cheapo give away type show, stations will allow volunteers to run camera.

2. Paid station camera operators in the studio normally have static shots and rarely have to zoom or focus
as the news shows are very structured. Robotic cameras maybe?

Nobody but real pros recognize this sort of thing anyway.

My grandfather owns one of those...

Best sounding acoustic guitar I've ever heard.

Yep, the D-28 is quite amazing. The top two or three most valuable guitars in the world are D-28's (Hank Sr and Elvis, to name a few). I own a 000-28, which is made with the same materials, and is the original shape that Martin used, pre-dreadnought.
