National Geographic illustrates in this video, that the human population is expected to hit 7 billion people—a number that puts the 1800s’ measly 1 billion to shame. (To put it into context, it would take 200 years just to count to 7 billion out loud.)
The video also highlights how alarmingly fast our population is growing as a whole. Exponentially faster than it was a century ago … or even a few decades ago. Every second, 5 people are born... 2 die.

The population is supposed to level off by 2050, and actually start declining by the next century.
Of course, this doesn't factor in natural disasters, plagues, famine, nuclear holocaust, or the rapture.
