News Flash! Linz leaving Tomblin for WCHS TV

The word on the street is that Deborah Linz will return to WCHS TV on Monday Jan 3rd. doing the noon and 6pm news.

It means that state and federal governments need people to lie for them. Nothing new. Comes with the territory. Did that happen? I have no idea. She's supposed to do the noon and 6pm news now.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Residents who've missed seeing Deborah Linz on their televisions in the evenings will apparently get to see the local news anchor again, beginning next year.

Linz anchored her final broadcast with local ABC and FOX broadcasting affiliates WCHS and WVAH on Dec. 10 in order to join acting Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin's staff as press secretary on Dec. 13.

However, Linz's stint in the governor's office was short-lived.

Jacqueline Proctor, communications director for Tomblin, confirmed Thursday that Linz will leave the governor's office on Dec. 30 in order to rejoin the WCHS news team.

Proctor could not comment on the reasons for Linz's decision, and Linz was unreachable on Thursday.

Upon her return to WCHS, Linz will reportedly work in an earlier time slot, anchoring the noon and 6 p.m. newscasts beginning Jan. 3.

This is the same person, who on a News 8 live shot from Yeager Airport, during the 2000 presidential election campaign, announced that Air Force One was landing with President, Al Gore. The vice-president's plane is called Air Force Two, presidential candidate, Al Gore was the then vice-president. Linz had just come a from Washington, D.C. area TV station. You would have thought she'd know better. Just two years ago she made a similar goof-off at the WV Statehouse, that caused many comments on this forum. She is great to look at, but leaves a lot to be desired in intellect.

Perhaps the statehouse gig was just a way to get a better shift, new contract, more money or to wait out a non-compete period.
Maybe JoAnne Tomblin didn't like he for some reason.
