With all the cats and birds in Elkview, I'll never go hungry. Variety is nice, too. Now, if I just had a taste for dog....

One time we had several cats appear at our firehouse. One of the "pussycat lovers" started feeding them. A few weeks later they disappeared, one at a time. Across the street was a family of Vietnamese. We were aware of them because they used to pick the flowers and leaves to eat, from our big flower garden at the side of the firehouse. One afternoon I'm looking out the window and see black smoke coming from their apartment. We rush over there and kicked-in the door. Nobody home. Smoke was everywhere, but we knew it wasnt "burning house" smell. Went into the kitchen and saw a huge pot on the stove with the fire under it on high. Grabbed the pot and took it outside. (Have you guessed what was in it yet? )

There was a burned cat, head on, feet missing. The water had boiled off.

Do you ever hang up an empty birdcage, serve "Cornish game hen" to guests, and then snicker as they eat?

I don't know.... as they are a food source for fish, birds and bats.
