The word on the street is that WCHS TV news anchor Deborah Linz is resigning to become ACTING Governor Earl Ray Tomblin's Press Secretary.

Good get for Tomblin, Deb is a very credible anchor and well liked by the public. Not so good for WCHS since Deb was the personality on the desk, and aside from Jennifer MacAndrews, there is no bench strength at the station and I doubt she would move to nights although she would be a great addition.

If this is true, WCHS could and maybe should...

Move - Jennifer McAndrews to Evenings
Move - IDK maybe umm Elizabeth Noreika to Mornings

or find someone from anothe market,

OR steal a VET. anchor from SAZ or 13...

Would anyone from 3 or 13 switch???
Ralston
or
Sandra Cole?

Do you think the Tomblin team of Proctor and Linz can match the masterful media coverage Ramsburg gave Joe Manchin? Those positive poll numbers came from somewhere for Joe and when Ramsburg left they fell off and when Rease was pulling ahead Ramsburg was hurried back and Joe rallyed! Good press is worth a lot and so far Tomblin hasn't showed much. I wish Deborah well.

The best bet would be to look outside the station. Other than Jen, they don't have anyone nearly strong enough to compete with Ralston and Cole.

Exactly.

Promotion from within is always a nice way to do it, but I agree that there's no one in the 'CHS stable that could successfully take over at 6, 10 and 11.

McAndrews is okay, but definitely not "primary anchor" good.

Dunno if anyone from 3 or 13 that could fit the job would actually make the move.

Although I would love to have a Nunley, I don't drink and I consider Treet to be a food group unto itself. Sorry...

Doubt she'd move to Charleston... especially with Dougie still working for St. Marys.

This was made official today.... finally.

Local television news anchor Deborah Linz is joining acting Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin's administration as his press secretary. Linz anchors WCHS and WVAH's joint nightly newscasts. She confirmed her new position Friday.

Linz, a Virginia Tech graduate, began her TV career in Roanoke, Va. as a noon weather anchor and medical reporter, according to her biography on the WCHS website. She then worked at a TV station in Illinois where she won several awards for her work, including her investigative reporting.

Earlier at six was her last newscast..... Sad to see her go, she has been a very good anchor. WCHS will benefit from having an insider at the capitol.

Funny how TV "journalists" move back and forth between "news" and National Socialist Democrat Party (NSDP) administrations and no one bats an eye over it. Yet let a congressman hire a conservative talk radio host for a job and all hell breaks loose...

I see no difference between the two. The difference between a talk show host and a TV "journalist" is that the talk show host is more honest: He or she admits openly to their bias, where the "journalist" pretends to not have one.

This is one reason why ratings for the traditional news media continue to collapse.
