PADEN CITY, W.Va. -- The owner of a West Virginia institution, the Marble King factory in Paden City, is appearing on the political comedy show "The Colbert Report.''
President Beri Fox is set to appear on the Comedy Central show at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Fox told The Intelligencer she'll discuss the state of American manufacturing. She knows host Stephen Colbert may throw some tough questions, but she says keeping jobs in America is important, and she's eager to talk about it.
Fox says producers approached her after reading comments she made during an Alliance for American Manufacturing panel in Wheeling last month.
She says manufacturers must innovate to survive. Her marbles, for example, are not just playthings: Today they're used in jewelry, craft products and even spray paint cans.

Beri Fox and I are proud classmates of Sistersville High School. In deference to Beri, I will not give the year.
She is very active in the community, and she has sponsored my car-show gigs on Memorial Day weekend. She is a really class act. I wish I had known of her appearance. If they ever rerun this, please let me know. Is it available online? (dumb question-almost everything is)

Check the scedules on Comedy Central's web page. They re-run Colbert and Stewart at least once the following day, so you might get a chance to watch it after all.

I got the opportunity to view Beri's appearance Thursday afternoon.
She certainly held her own against Colbert. That's not surprising to anyone that knows her.
