EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings have waived receiver Randy Moss.
Linebacker Ben Leber said coach Brad Childress informed the team that Moss had been let go during a team meeting Monday afternoon.
The NFL Network first reported the Vikings waived Moss, but team officials have not confirmed the move of the Kanawha Valley native and former DuPont High and Marshall University star.
Moss had one catch for 8 yards in a loss to the Patriots, In Sunday night's postgame news conference, he expressed admiration for the Patriots and criticized Vikings' coaching.
Childress said earlier Monday that Moss was staying back in the Boston area after the game to spend time with family. Childress said he did not regret acquiring him "at the moment."

Re: Moss
ESPN listed a number of possible teams that might want him, should he actually be waived. IMHO, he still has something left in the tank. However, ESPN analyst Tom Jackson was adamant in his criticism of Moss, focusing on the "I'll play when I want to" aspect (may not be quoted accurately, but you get the gist).

“We had the whole buffet set up, and we had a nice spread — chicken, ribs, round of beef with a carving station, the whole deal,” Tinucci’s co-owner Gus Tinucci said today. “(Moss) he comes in, and I’m helping one of the guys and didn’t look up, and all of a sudden I heard, ‘What the (expletive) is this? I wouldn’t feed this (expletive expletive) to my (expletive) dog!’ And he’s screaming it at the top of his lungs.
“He never even came through the line. He walked up towards it, looked at it, made the big stink and walked away. He didn’t eat.” Tinucci said the locker room, filled with players, got quiet. “Nobody said anything except for one (player) who said, ‘Shut the (expletive) up, Randy,’ ” he said.

Re: Moss
Dear God,
Please do not let any teams in the NFC East pick up Randy Moss as I do not want to see him on the field two or more times a year as I watch my Eagles football.
In His love,
CGarison
Amen.

Re: Moss
(a). Randy Moss has at least two MORE decent years in the tank.
(b). I hear the catering in Miami is excellent.
(c). Miami is not in the NFC East.
(d). Everybody happy.

Re: Moss
And as a special bonus, Miami is not in the AFC North either!
We all will win!
Edit:
WooHoo!!!! Moss is a Tennessee Titan!!!! Eagles just lost to them two weeks ago so we will not see him play Philly or the Giants for the rest of the the season!

Re: Moss
I was kinda hoping the Skins would sign him for a year or two to give McNabb a real deep threat.cgarison wrote:Dear God,

Something's still missing on the team, but they are close to being real contenders.
Starting receivers would have been Moss and Moss.

Re: Moss
I'm thrilled that the Titans picked up Moss. They only have him for the rest of the season, they can't franchise him, but he provides the team with a great deep threat which will help to stop opponents that have been putting eight guys in the box to stop Chris Johnson. Once Kenny Britt returns from his hamstring injury, and when Vince Young is healthy again, the Titans will have two bona fide strong receivers with Moss and Britt and Nate Washington as a great threat in the slot.
12 years ago the Titans (then the Tennessee Oilers) passed on Moss to draft Kevin Dyson. This time around they didn't repeat their mistake.
