WOWK TV Charleston/Huntington WV, a West Virginia Media station, is searching for an experienced, hands-on Assistant News Director. Candidates need to show an aggressive and competitive style of news management. Must also be a leader and a teacher with significant knowledge of television journalism, web usage, marketing, ethics and law. The position requires day-to-day management of news content and quality. The Assistant News Director will also be responsible for working with the News Director to maintain a budget and handle personnel issues. Candidates must show knowledge of current news events and have an understanding of local news delivery on multiple platforms. The position requires strong talent recruiting and development skills.

The Assistant News Director at WOWK works with the station's News Director, General Manager and The VP of News to establish and build a news philosophy that keeps the television news operation competitive and profitable. Must have a minimum of three years news management experience and a related college degree. The news director is based in Charleston and it is too hard to get to Huntington.
An ass director is needed to herd the sheep and spy on the minions.
Bray would do that too but it is so far beneath him that he cannot see the little people.

There's a lot of ass news. I see lots of smart asses and dumb asses on the news every day.
