This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.
Seems there was another shootout at 3:40 this morning on Central Ave near Russel Street. ( Shootout Central) According to my old Aunt who lives nearby, it sounded like they emptied a couple a clips. Two Black males dressed in white T shirts were dragging a female towards their car. She "thinks" someone was shot, but not positive. The cops looked for shell casings all morning.
The odd thing is that none of the news media have this story yet. I just informed them.

i've had the fortune or misfuotune to live in a couple different "slums" outside of this state, and they were well behaved compared to the crap that goes on here.. seriously, I lived in 1 neighborhood for a year and only heard a gunshot once, and it was an old man down the street who accidentally discharged it... these larger cities have their mess well maintained compared to the cops here...
Doesn't MSNBC stand for the Media that Spins the News for Barrack's Cabinet?

I understand that TV8 had something on the shooting that morning, while others didn't. There seems to be so many shootings on the West Side that only people killed are worthy of making the news now.

I always disliked doing beat calls during my TV news producing days (I felt awkward calling 911 lines asking if anything newsworthy was going on), but beat calls can be VERY helpful in cases like this -- especially if it's one producer in Huntington trying to write an entire newscast who may or may not be set up to effectively hear Charleston scanners.
