How NOT to become a victim....

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

How NOT to become a victim....

Post by CoolBreeze »

This evening around 7:30 I was walking through Fife Street in Charleston. I sometimes feed the birds that are nesting in the alley. I was approached by a young Black male asking if I had a cigarette. (oldest trick in the book) I said "no I don't" and as I passed him, he then said "Don't you remember me? I was the one that helped break up the fight that your friend was in over in the park" I'm still walking and he's now behind me over to my right. He wanted me to stop and face him and carry on a conversation. But that's ANOTHER old trick and so I turned my head only, to face him (still walking) and told him that I didn't have any friends, at which point two more Black males appeared from a doorway slightly in front of me where they had been hidden. They started approaching me.

At that point I raised my shirt to expose my weapon and unsnapped the holster. I placed my hand on the grip and kept walking. I heard them say that I had a gun as I turned the corner.

The end.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Police are looking for suspects in the brutal beating and robbery of a Charleston man.

Charleston Sgt. Eric Hodges said Robert J. "Jeff" Moore, 53, was found at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday in an alley off of Fife Street. He said the man appeared to have been beaten and robbed.

Moore, who suffered serious head injuries was unconscious when officers found him, was transported to Charleston Area Medical Center's General Hospital where he was in critical condition Sunday afternoon.

Hodges said that Moore has not been able to provide information on the incident because of his injuries. There have been no arrests made.

Detectives ask that anyone with information contact the Charleston Criminal Investigation Division at 304-348-6480.

charleston has been talking about putting in cameras all over the city, instead of putting them in the drags like they've talked about they should be putting them down little side streets like that...
