I'll go ahead and say it, because history will prove me right...

She's the most significant pop artist/performer since Madonna.

Strangely fascinating to watch. Like Madonna, she pushes the envelope without crossing the line into being crass.

Her first 5 singles charted #1 on Billboard. The new one, "Alejandro", is a promising single, too. The video hasn't been released yet.

Probably the only current artist who can sell out arenas by herself. Half of her U.S. summer tour is already sold out. (No stops in WV.)

I have a feeling she will be around for quite some time...

Questioning not judging, I haven't heard enough of her to make a judgement.

Does she write any of her own material? Or is she someone else's creation?

She writes her own stuff, as well as written a few tunes here and there for others.

She sings live, doesn't need Autotune, and can play the shit out of the piano.

She's the real deal, and worth watching.

Actually, it would be interesting to observe her do somebody else's material. It would display her interpretive abilities.

It is funny that we are comparing her to Madonna considering that she is essentially on Madonna's Interscope label.

Also, she has intelligently shifted her music to have a bit more European sound than the typical hip-hop sound that has been more prevalent in American music.
