WQCW

Post by genlock »

If I am not mistaken, WQCW is now operating from WOWK tower on Barker ridge with Maximum power.
This would make them the most powerful station in the market.
Maybe they will do news.

You are right they are. I don't know if the generator will handle all of everything. there was some discussion about the digitals overloading the generator before WQCW. then they cut back on the ammount of fuel so at full load it has a very short run time. with the old analog transmitter there was only about two days running time. they cut fuel from 1,000 gallons to aprox 500 gallons. originally it was figured that the station could operate the transmitter site for aprox 7 days with the 1,000 gal. maybe they have some way of seperating the two stations if there is a power outage. also the fm radio station is also out there. it was WNST FM don't know what it is called now.. It was my job to verify that both the studio and transmitter generators operated once a week and to check fuel levels.
