I found this in the Charleston newspaper archives. It's a locally famous store (now out of business) selling radios. Here are the interesting aspects:

1... You can actually plug it into house current!

2... It cost the equivalent of $2,725 according to on-line calculators.

3... That price DID NOT INCLUDE THE TUBES!

I sold many radios at our store until about 1950 when word of a strange, new light in homes was being reported...

Sorry, I was trying to go somewhere with this, then didn't.
