Consolidation king Clear Channel announced today a change in what you will soon be hearing. CC in association with Eventide (of harmonizer fame), is installing units at the Cincy news hub that would "astound listeners" if they knew what they were hearing. Now when you flip across CC stations you will hear the same news, but a different person speaking on each station. Up to sixteen "different people" simultaniously from one box. And yes, the voices can be made the highly electricaly negative female voice too!
Why? "Because of the number of CC stations airing the same (newscast) that can be heard on any given radio makes us sound really BAD when it's the same voice" one exec. allegedly was quoted as saying. So now when you listen to the news you should ask yourself, is that a "real" voice or a box talking?
