I just added the Bluefield-Beckley-Oak Hill "locals" to my DirecTV system, and am wondering about the WV Media Stations... I am surprised that CBS59 news is not in HD, and was wondering if the other WV Media stations have their news in High Definition....(surprisingly enough even WOAY news is HD....but WVVA is not HD either) It often seems that WVNS is a copy of WOWK 13, and that is fine- but I wonder if WOWK news is in HD? And WBOY news? and WTRF news?
Also, I see that there is an iPhone app for WBOY- but did not see one for the other WV Media outlets..... interesting.
I realize that WOWK is probably the flagship for Bray, but what is the real pecking order?
Finally-
Are other WV stations broadcasting their news in HD? WSAZ? WCHS/WVAH? WDTV? Others?

Doing news in HD is very cost prohibitive in this market. It is not like you can generate any additional revenue from it and cost of upgrading all the cameras, lighting, switchers, video servers, etc. is still outrageous. I wouldn't expect to see local HD news in WV anytime soon. I believe Sinclair will be first if it happens.
