FCC drowns in indecency complaints

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

FCC drowns in indecency complaints

The FCC's massive indecency backlog is consumed by complaints directed at cable networks and other content outside of the commission's jurisdiction.

According to documents obtained by SNL Kagan through a Freedom of Information Act request, the FCC Enforcement Bureau had 1.45 million complaints pending and 12,049 open cases on indecency at the end of 2009.

Yet as many as 7,000 of those cases could be directed at political or racial content, as well as violent programming or material that aired on late-night broadcast channels or on cable networks, which are all outside of the commission's authority, an FCC source told SNL Kagan.

I love how the use of "teabagging" drew 1,239 complaints...

Two things...

Without judgment or preconceived notion I ask the following question. What kind of person has the inclination, time, and will to complain about something on TV?

The funniest thing about the teabagging thing is how much teabaggers hate being called "teabaggers."

I want to know who told the political teabaggers about the slang usage. I can tell you it wasn't me. I know three political teabaggers and they were proud to call themselves "teabaggers" when all of this started. I would laugh my ass off every time and there was no way I was going to ruin that daily belly laugh by telling them about it.

One answer is all I get? You people are hurting my ego.

Fine then. Let me say something that will get the debate started.

Liberals are scum and are stupid!

No they're not. Conservative are scum and stupid!

Are not!

Are too!

Are not and I can paste stuff to prove it!

Yeah, but the stuff you pasted is not from an approved by me source!

Is not!

Is too!
