The time is nearly upon us when everyone knows what an instrument is, but no one will know how to play it!

I think this is pretty cool, myself.

Most trance/electronica music has been almost 100% computer-generated for years.

It's its own kind of talent, because even though actual instruments are not being played, one still has to have an ear for music and the technical knowhow to put it all together.

This is just the next evolution of this concept. I find these endless "what if" possibilities exciting.

However, no computer could ever replace raw human musical talent.

AmpedNow is right. Music, like any other art, must grow if it's to remain viable and pertinent. It does so by embracing new ways to further its expression. It always has been that way, for the good of the art. After all, that's why rock musicians more often play electric guitars than acoustic lutes. (And, even at its core, the guitar itself is centuries old.)

Yes, it's not only important, but crucial, to keep the progression going. Tomorrow's musicians might not play today's instruments with great facility, but they will "play" the instruments of their time in ways we can only begin to imagine!
