Here's an idea about the national debt.
If push comes to shove, who can collect it from us?
It is one of the reassuring things about having the largest nuclear arsenal on the planet.
Nobody, and I mean no nation on earth, will ever find it in their best interest to attempt to call in our debt.

I agree that the global economy is so intertwined with America and the dollar, any country that seriously attempts to collect would be seriously hurt in the long run. Even Iran and Venezuela have to deal with dollars, as much as they hate us, because it's the only currency oil is traded with globally.

China is over a barrel, too. They cash in and put us in a depression, nobody will buy their junk.

But, I think this is an amazing statement coming from a liberal... The threatened use of nuclear force against countries who are rightfully owed? Somehow, a skyrocketing national debt is no longer an issue?

It certainly was during the "big spending" Bush years, which paled in comparison to the amount of spending going on now under Obama.

Oh, and war, esp that kind, is really bad, umm-kay?

That's actually one of the great technologies that has come out of the wars in the Middle East. AK-47's and IED's that only kill poor people and minorities. Rich kids (Like Palin and Biden's offspring), not a worry in the world. I hear they get to wear bathing suits and flip-flops.

What you have failed to realize is that there is a HUGE difference between attempting to understand the TRUTH about an issue and finding out what it is that you WANT to believe and trying your damndest to convince yourselves and others that its true..

It is FACT that the vast majority of the people that have fought in the wars in this country are either poor whites or minorities.. PERIOD!!

Due to economic conditions and lack of opportunity they decide that the military will be a way out... A good stable economic opportunity... A way to better their lots in life.. but then all of a sudden one day a President whose main constituancy is a military contractor decides that they want to make a little money.. That President gets brainwashed by his Vice President and then all of a sudden that poor 17 year old white or black kid is sent off to die... In a war that we did not have to fight.. All for the benefit of the Military Contractors, folks like Halliburton and Big Oil...

Now, even if that kid is smart enough to know that he has been lied to there isnt much that he can do about it cuz after all, if he follows the lead of the President that got him into that mess in the first place, decides to go AWOL, just like that President once did after his rich daddy got him into the National Guard, then he is called a traitor, gets a bad discharge, and never gets a real job..
