So called "Conservative" Blowhards Slamming Each Other

-Glenn Beck vs. Republicans/conservative commentators vs. Glenn Beck: On Saturday night, widely popular and always controversial Fox News host Glenn Beck delivered the keynote address at the annual gathering of conservatives known as CPAC. In his speech, Beck took some shots at the Republican party, comparing its inability to control its spending impulses to Tiger Woods' inability to control his sexual urges, and hinted that the creation of a third party might be in order since he thinks there are few differences between Republicans and Democrats in Washington.
Beck's words to the 2010 CPAC attendees, who supported Ron Paul overwhelmingly in a straw poll, didn't sit well with many of his cohorts in the conservative punditry. On his radio show, Rush Limbaugh warned that such talk threatened to divide the movement at a particularly crucial time.
"The best way to insure that Obama succeeds is to think that we need a third party," he said. "All the momentum that we've got going right now is just going to hit a brick wall if a third party starts, particularly on the basis that there's 'no difference between the two parties.'"
Conservative talker Mark Levin went a step further, mincing no words in firing a rhetorical warning shot aimed directly at Beck, saying flatly, "Stop dividing us."
-Michael Steele vs. the party faithful: One seemingly constant source of controversy within the Republican party for the last year has been the words and actions of RNC Chairman Michael Steele. The former Maryland lietenant governor has come under fire numerous times for comments deemed by some as embracing moderate to liberal policy stances. Additionally, Steele's handling of party finances has angered many within the ranks, a scab that was peeled off again this week when a Politico story revealed that not only is Steele lagging behind his predecessors in raising money for the party, but that he's also spent nearly twice as much as any past chairman on things such as charter flights, pricey meals, and chauffered cars.

Re: So called "Conservative" Blowhards Slamming Each Other
As much as I would love to see three or more viable parties (I love parliamentary-type government), I agree with Rush and Levin in this instance. I can't think of a better political tool for the Dems to use than to roll out a bunch of faux Tea Party candidates in key races for the "Perot" effect. Heck, we recently seen it happen in NY state when the republican vote was split...
The Republican Party is still in much disarray right now. We are witnessing:
The Tea Party
The Tea Party effect (VA, NJ, MA)
Tea Party purists who want to "purge" the Republicans of anyone the slightest bit non-conservative (Way to reach out to Indies, knuckleheads)
Neocons attempting to hijack the Tea Party
Socons attempting to hijack the Tea Party
Rockefeller/establishment republicans laughing at the Tea Party
Ineffective leadership; no rising stars (They have roughly 18 more months to figure this out. By then, 2012 will be pinging the radar)
What to do with Sarah Palin
What to do with the McCain/centrist wing
What to do with the Huckabee/evangelical/socon wing
What to do with the Romney/Wall Street/money wing
What to do with the Cheney/neocon wing
How to convince the Indies and some disillusioned blue dog dems to hop on board this year and in 2012
And, finally...
How to make them all play nice and agree on one single candidate to challenge an incumbent Obama.
While they have the momentum, it will prove easier said than done. There is a lot that can happen between now and November. Never mind 2012.
Rush knows this and is trying to head off some potential factioning before it gets a chance to begin. The Tea Party is too new and fragile to be on its own and stand a real chance. This is why he wants it to stay under the Republican umbrella for now and in 2012.

Re: So called "Conservative" Blowhards Slamming Each Other
Very well stated, AmpedNow. The Tea Party is a joke. They are not a serious political contender anywhere. Like Sarah Palin, they're punch drunk on their own media attention. The "party" has no unified platform. They have no leader. Funding is arbitrary and capricious. They are a collection of conservative one-issue hot button voters (pro-life, anti-gun control, etc.), GOP loyalists who can't find one reason to stay with the rudderless Republicans these days, and knuckle-dragging trailer dwellers who hate everything FOX and Rush tells them to hate. The only common thread among all the teabaggers is "we need to git that uppity nigger out of the White House any way we can". Whitey's Last Stand ... wrapped in a symbol.

I take huge offense to that sir.... fact is, he's a fucking joke, hasn't made one good decision since being in office so far. Fact, since he's been elected I've gotten 3 raises from my employer somewhere to the tune of almost 3k, and my take home pay has stayed the same, and i'm considered upper LOWER class.
I could go on a racist rant if you'd really like, I may just do that later on, i dunno just yet.......
I've just always found that there's ALWAYS a better reason to hate a person than the color of their skin. And it's not too hard to find that reason.....

None of those things you mention are "facts", they are your personal opinion.

You might want to check with the state you live in about your so-called tax increases. I haven't seen any federal increase, nor have my family members in VA, SC, and MD.fearpeddler wrote:Hoosier Daddy wrote: The only common thread among all the teabaggers is "we need to git that uppity nigger out of the White House any way we can". From my viewpoint, the only bad decision Obama's made so far was to let Congress write the health reform bills, then let Republicans get out in front of the story.
On another note, how about Scott Brown voting with the Democrats on the jobs bill? Should he now be drummed out of the Republican party?
Okay, one more thing. Do the Tea Baggers disappear when Fox loses interest and stops funding the "Parties"?
Okay, one more one more thing. Glenn Beck, remember where his roots lie. He's a CHR Morning Guy who was a shock jock in Baltimore. He's still a shock jock, just politically now. His gig is getting ratings. He could give a rat's patoot about either party. He spouts the conservative line yet lives the same lifestyle as the liberal elite he supposedly despises. Remember, it's a SHOW. You guys don't think he actually believes that junk he spouts do you?

lol, the one time i tried to listen to glenn beck it reminded me of some touchy-feely-we're-all-ok thing, not too keen on that
Couldn't give you a valid opinion about anything the repubs did honestly because i'm a democrat... ( shocking isn't it) you guys need to see that your own party isn't happy with you libs and your bullshit......

This is the problem I was talking about with the Tea Party purists... Many are already calling him a turncoat and want him out.Bob Campbell wrote:On another note, how about Scott Brown voting with the Democrats on the jobs bill? Should he now be drummed out of the Republican party?
I think the Tea Party movement is a great event in American politics. My point is its greatest challenge will be to keep the zealots from hijacking and bitterly polarizing it to where it sinks into oblivion under its own weight. The Progressives have pretty much succeeded in doing this to the Democrat Party.
Running on a conservative platform and inviting all to come along for the ride is different from the "Stay out if you're not a pure conservative!" approach. Ronald Reagan, whom they all practically worship, ran and won on the former. The latter will only doom them to wandering in the desert of American politics.
By the way, $15 billion is chump change compared to how Congress is spending these days... I see nothing wrong with extending unemployment benefits and improving our highways. I would have voted for it, too.
The massive, unnecessary spending in the trillions is what bothers me...

Too late...
Tea Party is a FOR PROFIT Org., began by a Republican and they are nothing more than a lunatic fringe group that is being used to push the Rightwing agenda.. Sadly, they are not smart enough to know that they are nothing more than tools..

I disagree, and I think you're not giving "most" of the T Bag party members the respect they deserve. They are just one part of a much larger group of people (like myself) who have given up on both parties. Some are disillusioned Republicans, but many are people just sick and tired of both parties and big government period. Of course, they aren't the only group that feels this way. More and more people are fed up with the lies of the Republicans and the outright Communism of the Democrats. I'm afraid that politics will change in a big way in the very near future. I'm an Independent, and now that you can vote in both Primaries, lots more people will go this route. That will keep the Democrats and the Republicans on their toes one day, not knowing which way this soon to be large group will vote.
I personally don't care what ANY of the talk show hosts say. I say... screw both the Democrats AND the Republicans. Both can go straight to hell in a hand basket. Once they know we feel this way, maybe they'll get back on track someday.

Well, it's in vogue now to CLAIM to be fed up with Big Gov, and them there Commie Dems or whatever other scary word that the Rightwing is using to slander the Democrats, but AGAIN: The Tea Party is NOW a FOR PROFIT Org, that was started by a Republican, and NOW supports Republican candidates..
Everyone likes the idea of a third party.. Or a party thats says up yours to both sides..
However, the FACT as it pertains to the Tea Party is that they are NOT such an entity..
They are a FOR PROFIT org that is trying to get Republicans elected and recently thru down $100,000 to have idiot in Chief Sarah Palin come and read off her hand..

Re: So called "Conservative" Blowhards Slamming Each Other
One thing I know is for certain now, after that thar summit thingie the other day...
Obama is fiddling while his own party burns.
Didn't Jim DeMint call health care "Obama's Waterloo" back in July? It seems that time is proving him right.
Interesting enough, Obama himself all but admitted this, by saying, "That's what elections are for." It seems that he himself is bracing for the Tea Party tidal wave about to smash him and his party in the coming months. It also seems that he's willing to go down on this single issue if it comes down to it.
This issue is what is predominantly galvanizing the Tea Party movement.
We are about to witness an amazing chapter in American political history.

I don't think anyone cares WHO is running the government as long as it doesn't interfere with our freedoms and doesn't hurt "the average man". As you get older you'll understand certain things that go on behind the scenes... always have and always will, and it's these very things that made America stand out above all the rest.DJSHOCKLEY wrote: An amazingly stupid bunch of wacko's that think that they are a heck of alot more intelligent than they really are and not smart enough to know that their movement is only being used by well financed, big business entities...
1... The Masons, along with a couple of lesser organizations control the towns and their directions. Been that way since George Washington. Lenin wasn't a Mason. Neither were the hordes of Russian Socialists that came to these shores to start the first Unions.
2...The balance of power has been tipping back and forth since the beginning of this nation: First the Capitalist had too much of it and then the Union. Has continued to go back and forth until the Union was forced to Unionize the government itself as a means of last resort, after making shitty cars and Union gangsterism among other things.
3.. You may be BORN equal, but after that first breath you're on your own. Nobody owes you a damned thing. Anything you achieve is up to you. Not the government, not society, not the Democrats. Some people are just luckier than others to be born in a better position than you. Dont blame that on society, blame your parents. I've known just as many very successful men who started out dirt poor as I've known men who were born rich however. That wasnt society's fault either.
4.. As soon as people start taking care of themselves first, being responsible for their own actions, the quicker this class envy and Utopia dream will end. Stop blaming your situation on society or those nasty old Capitalists or government. Like Dave Thomas and millions of others who never stepped foot in a university, get out there and do your thing (work) and keep at it until you have something. Play your very few cards right and you will have something in the end. I know... because that's exactly what I had to do, so did millions of others.
Sorry about going all over the place with this one....

This goes a little afield of the discussion perhaps, but it was shown that there are approximately 26 lobbyists for EACH member of Congress. THEY run Congress, and there's no reason to see that number go down anytime soon. Add the now ever-growing foreign influence, and SOMETHING big has to happen. Taxation without representation...history proves how that played out.
It is frightening to know that our debt may never be repaid. If it is, none of us will be alive to see it.
As philosopher Mick Foley says, "Have a nice day!"

Here's an idea about the national debt.
If push comes to shove, who can collect it from us?
It is one of the reassuring things about having the largest nuclear arsenal on the planet.
Nobody, and I mean no nation on earth, will ever find it in their best interest to attempt to call in our debt.
Sorry, I know it's not on the topic.
Here's another tidbit about the Tea Baggers. Remember, they were created and are primarily funded by Fox News. They are primarily a promotion gimmick for Fox News ( and I couldn't get my station to even buy billboards!). Who knows what impact they may or may not have if forced to function without the support of Fox.

I find it hard to feel threatened by their military at their current level of development.
