Interesting blog about the man (Troy McQueen) in Apple Grove who shot his wife and then the State Police had to kill him. This blog about McQueen goes back just over a year ago:
Pinheads on Parade
By Steve Krupnik | April, 27, 2009
Little story in the news today about a West Virginia entrepreneur who obviously has decided to position his businesses to cater to low income families. Troy McQueen is a pretty diverse businessman owning both a pawn shop and a trailer park. Oh... and he also owns a meth lab. Ouch. I know, sorry to get your blood pressure up. But I'm telling you about this for a reason.
If you're anything like I used to be, any time I saw this sort of story in the media it would make my skin crawl. I would get my shorts all in a bunch over some idiot like McQueen. It would make me feel like this jackass is undoing every bit of positive public relations about the pawnbroking industry that many of us are working so hard to get out there. At times, it would even make me ashamed to even be a member of the pawn shop tribe.
I admit it - I was wrong. And if you still think this way I feel that you are too.
Why do I say this? Easy. Because the fact remains that pinheads like Mr. McQueen are still out there. Lucky for you and I they are a very small minority. And thanks to McQueen getting busted, that small minority just got smaller. Cause for undue grief? I think not. Sounds to me like it's more of a cause for celebration. McQueen will never call himself a pawnbroker again.
Much more....
