Ford Turns Profit..Despite Unions!

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

And perhaps a growing number of people will begin to wonder how, with their own tax dollars, the Chrysler car company somehow ended up speaking Italian.

An aside...yesterday I went to the West Virginia International Auto Show. A number of people were panting at a Cadillac SUV and boasting how they would never, ever buy a foreign car. I quietly showed them the sticker showing where the parts were from. 55 percent were from Mexico. Bail-out dollars, Mexican parts...on a Cadillac.

How...nice.

The WV International Auto Show?
What make and model was the other car?

It was the Obama administration's Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood who determined that Toyota had to recall these vehicles over reports of sticky acceleration pedals. Why? Could it be that Toyota has too many non-union plants in the U.S. and the Obama administration sees its primary job as bolstering unions at any cost?

Cute, though not true. Recall was voluntary, as Toyota is trumpeting so loudly in its ads.
LaHood has no authority outside US, recall is worldwide.

There is no such thing as an "American made" vehicle. Hasn't been for years.

The only people who could hate "foreign" cars are people who have never let themselves drive one.

You miss my point. These people would not buy a Camry or Accord or Altima built in the USA out of mostly US/Canadian parts, but would buy a Cadillac or Fusion built in USA/or Mexico (Fusion) out of mostly Mexican parts. They have no idea...they go by the name on the car...

No, I got it.

I was speaking more to their ignorance.

I hear it all the time as well...
