Need Opinions From Both The Right And Left

The Bilderberg Group first came to my attention via Jessie Venturas tv show "Conspiracy Theory"..
Pretty much concludes that those of us that are pickering about right vs left are nothing more than mindless lemmings to the group of about 120 corporations that control the world..

What do u guys honestly think of this?

I personally don't believe in all that crap. However, I DO believe that much of what happens in this world is either planned in advance or happens due to the incompetence of those in power in any given nation. Every government ( including ours ) in the world has made deals behind closed doors that has gotten millions of people killed for absolutely no reason. Most of the time the citizens believed what they were told, only to find out 50 years later that it was all a damned lie and wasn't necessary. So I keep a close eye on their governments, and an even closer eye on mine. History has proven that no one can be trusted.

dude, I learned of all that mess back in the 90's during high school, It's groups like this that make me hate the established rule, for just the simple thought, that a handfuld of people "MIGHT", note I said might, actually be calling the shots as compared to what we've always thought about how our country is run..

I knew all about NAM back in the day, and how the Military Industrial Complex pretty much does whatever it wants despite who is in power, but Bilderberg is a broader aspect that I hadn't really seen disected before..

Yes and no.

Yes, in that there is some group out there that wants to wield an enormous amount of power over the world's system, and extort money out of and geopolitically weaken the United States at the same time. Call it the UN, the Green movement, the future Antichrist system...I don't know what is. But I sense a great outside influence on our government to pull this country in a certain direction of governing that transcends our "right" and "left" political paradigm.

No, in that if this group exists, it is the worst kept secret in the world. How could such a "secret" committee of world elites conspire to take over the world in plain sight? How could they "secretly" control everyone in every government body in every major country in the world, including the United States, and have every politician be a willing accomplice to this conspiracy? How could they "secretly" control all the major currencies, exchange rates, and stock markets in the world without any problems?

Such a group would be too complicated to hold together in reality. Never mind the impossible task of one group single-handedly controlling the world's entire system and all of its variables, but the conspiracy theorists don't take into account human nature itself: with so much money and power at stake, they would turn against each other if it meant personal gain.

On a serious note. We live in an extraordinarily complex world, where decisions taken by governments and individuals often have unexpected consequences. Things change and change rapidly, and the pace of change continues to increase.
It is not surprising that we seek simple answers to hideously complicated questions. Simplicity makes it easier for us to come to grips with things, good or bad, that happen for what seem to be no reason, or worse, for bad reasons.
That's why, throughout history, humanity has been in love with conspiracy theories. They give us simple answers to complex questions.
The Bilderberger conspiracy is one of the most popular. A vast cabal of rich business people really control everything. It gives us a tidy, simple answer to complex stuff and gives us some "other" to blame when things go wrong, thus allowing us as individuals to abdicate our own responsibility for our own happiness. When we have a "they" to blame, we don't have to take as hard a look at ourselves or think as much. We can go watch the ballgame on tv, because we have it figured out. "The Bilderbergers did it". "That socialist Obama did it". "Bush and Cheney did it".
We seek patterns in everything, it's part of our evolutionary heritage. When no pattersn exist, we create them. We connect stuff. It's one of our greatest strengths as humans, but also one of our greatest weaknesses.
That said, I think we all know Woody Harrelson's dad was the man on the grassy knoll who really shot JFK.
