Re: Job Offered
Whatever minimum wage is currently set at.
This job will require attention to detail, and some training.
May be hard to fill from existing candidate pool.
Easier to fine people who want to be reporters.

Not meaning to be smart, but how much success do you expect attracting a degreed, experienced person to a part-time, minimum wage job? I would expect in HUntington, college kids are the only people who would be interested in such a thing.

WOWK has the union to contend with.
Not a strong one, just troublesome.

Re: Job Offered
In most colleges, a "Communications" degree is one step up from having a Bachelor's in Underwater Basketweaving. A lot of english and speech type classes with an emphasis on public speaking and marketing. You may dabble in some journalism and technical offerings, if available, but there really isn't any broadcast training involved. Jet is right. This might be a stepping stone for some soon-to-be or recently graduated Marshall student wanting to enter the vast world of electronic media.

Re: Job Offered
I worked my last year of college as a TV broadcast tech. It was a positive experience for me, and I remember all the people I worked with there fondly. Only place I ever worked that gave me a Christmas bonus! I came across a pay stub from there, recently. I made $301 net for 80 hours! But I was glad to make it at the time. Good times.

Re: Job Offered
Definitely a starting point for a young college type trying to get through and get some experience as well. I started out in the production department and I still have my old union jacket. All the lettering came off the back, but you can still make out NABET. What is Allen Payne doing there now? When I worked there he was in the promotion dept.
