Another Obama Milestone

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Another Obama Milestone

Post by Jet Black »

Here's some legitimate show prep: The New Messiah is at it again, showing his ingorance of and/or disdain of traditional American ideas:

Wow ... all that from NewsMax, the internet FOX wannabe.

You people have hated Barack Obama since he was the Democratic Presidential nominee.
Sadly, Hillary would be getting the same treatment if she had been elected.

You lost. Get over it.

So it's OK with you, Hoosier, that the American President is now bowing to foreign potentates?

Washington didn't. Jefferson didn't. Reagan didn't. John Birch didn't. I wouldn't. Obama can hardley wait to do it again.

It's absolutely 100% fine with me.
Your "problem" is nothing more than your increasingly unhinged hatred for anything and everything the President does.

Obama isn't the first president to bow before a foreign dignitary.
Bill Clinton also bowed to Akihito.
Richard Nixon bowed to Emperor Showa (a.k.a. Hirohito)
Dwight Eisenhower bowed to French President Charles de Gaulle.
None of these events signaled the end of America as a world power.

Japan is an important world player.
We have worked hard for three decades to build a working relationship with Japan.
Obama's bow was nothing more than an attempt to show some goodwill and kindness to an aging Emperor.

Turn off FOX. Turn off Glenn Beck. Turn off Rush Limbaugh and the rest of the Hatecasters.
This means absolutely nothing. Nothing at all.

Jeez.

I don't remember Eisenhower bowing to anybody.
Do you have a citation on this?

And here I was thinking KYJ voted for him...

Because my gut reaction to this news article is "so what", I must ask...

Did the Emperor of Japan bow as well? I'm all for "level playing field, nothing makes us any more special than the rest of the world, blah, blah blah"... but did the Emperor return the bow, or even lead off the exchange?

Enjoy it while you can.

After 2012, we won't see another progressive leftist president for at least another generation.

I didn't vote for this crap.

Including bowing to foreign leaders.

Looks like the photog caught IKE in a nod.
As I remember he and DeGaulle didn't get along.
Obama's bow to the Emperor made it look like he was ready to shine his shoes.

I saw a report on television last night that some newspapers in Japan have opted to not run the photo of Obama bowing to the Emperor, as they find it embarrassing. Seems that Obama's bow was actually not an act of good protocol but a failure to understand protocol.

Good thing WWII vets are too old to count anymore. I'm sure many of them would say that they have lived too long, to see the Marxist President of the United States bowing to the waist before the Emperor of Japan. I had a great uncle who passed away several years ago. When I went to his wake, his family had his pocket card on display that certified that he had been present in Tokyo Bay when the surrender had been signed on the Missouri. I wonder if Obama even understands the significance of the USS Missouri. I wonder if he even knows what the Missouri was.

But, Hoosier, you have to understand, we free Americans are disgusted by the idea of showing subservience to foreign royalty. I understand that, as a Union functionary, you are comfortable with kow-towing to your superiors, bowing down to authority, cowering before the awsome powers of those who enforce the democratic unionist ideals that you better damn well respect because they know where your kids go to school. But I am not. So, let's just agree to disagree.
God Bless Us, Every One.

When President Clinton was in office I thought the visceral and ridiculous hatred from the right was astounding.

When President Bush was in office I couldn't believe how much worse the left was.

The level the right has reached with President Obama in a single year since the election is beyond the limits of my brain to process.

I guess the good news is unless the economy stays in the tank until 2012 (which it won't) the right wing machine is guaranteeing President Obama's re-election and banishing themselves to the political wilderness with the "nutjob" stamp (whether that is warranted or not).

I guess more good news is the left wing machine is so incompetent they won't be able to swing the nation too far left either.

Dudes.

You sure about that? Based on what I saw on Letterman last night, you guys are having a more difficult time accepting it than we are.

1 Cheney joke (Who's that?)
1 McCain joke (I thought he lost)
No less than 7 Palin slams (He's been lobbing stones at her book for over a month, and it just came out today)
and a Gulliani joke.

All in the first 15 minutes.

I believe I wondered aloud, on here, what the hateful left would do once the big bad monster of the Republican Party left the White House...

Apparently "MoveOn" is an oxymoron.
