A big one too.
IRONTON, OHIO -- A Columbus area man was shot to death while trying to rob an Ironton family.
Ironton Police said the family was staying in a Columbus hotel while attending a horse show last week when a man burst in their room waving a gun and demanding money.
He told them to get on the floor and began robbing them.
That's when a woman who was lying on her purse pulled out her .357 pistol and shot the man once in the chest.
He died in the parking lot soon afterward.
Police said the 70-year-old great-grandmother has a permit to carry a concealed weapon and was trained by Ironton police.
No one else was injured. The incident is under investigation.

The only sad thing about it is that now the NRA will use this in their way-too-frequent, way-too-over-the-top telemarketing calls until the dawn of the next century!

Granny did what mothers do, she protected her children.
She could have used a knitting needle, a rolling pin or a frying pan.
She used a .357 Magnum and removed the problem from this earth forever.
Granny did the right thing and deserves a medal from the state.
She also deserves hugs from her kids and grand kids
and thanks from the people who were next on the criminals list to rob and kill.
