OATH KEEPERS: ORDERS WE WILL NOT OBEY

1. We will NOT obey orders to disarm the American people.

Definitely down with that.

2. We will NOT obey orders to conduct warrantless searches of the American people

Check.

3. We will NOT obey orders to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to military tribunal.

Depends on where they are, what they are doing, and who they're hanging out with.

4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state.

I can see rare instances where it might be beneficial. They locked down New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and NYC after 9/11.

Otherwise, I can't think of any reason to lock down an entire state to the point of immobilizing its citizens -- or if the feds even have the constitutional authority to do it.

5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty.

Depends. Every state is sovereign, so long as it's under the framework of the national constitution.

However, should Texas ever try to secede from the country, for example, the feds would move in to stop it, no question.

Personally I would not support any secession movement. Try revolutionizing the federal government first if they ever get that tyrannical, before tearing the country apart.

This would be an interesting topic in its own thread...

6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.

Agree -- even in the case of a major disease pandemic. We are such a transient population, it would do little good anyway.

7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.

Absolutely.

8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to “keep the peace” or to “maintain control."

No need for it. Militias of a legally-armed citizenry can "keep the peace" just as well. See: Munuteman Project.

9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies.

Does said property also include their money?

Oh, wait ...

10.We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.

The right to say whatever we want without fear of retribution is one of the greatest rights of a free citizenry.

Oh, and the right to say "Fuck".



Seriously, the number of people who don't understand this concept even on a basic level these days is outright scary...

Some are even in the highest levels of government.
