CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Eight months after judging Charleston to be to America's "Worst City for Men" in terms of health and recreation, Men's Health magazine has declared West Virginia's capital to be at the bottom of the heap in another category.
According to the October issue of Men's Health, Charleston is also the nation's most accident-prone metropolis.
In the current issue's "Metrogrades" feature, which carries the headline "Accident City, USA," Charleston placed 100th out of 100 cities subjected to a statistical analysis of safety-related criteria selected by the magazine.
Data analyzed in the survey included workplaces accident rates, traffic fatalities, emergency room visits, accidental poisonings, incidents of drowning, fires and injury-producing falls. The numbers were crunched from data generated by sources ranging from the Centers for Disease Control to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
In January, the magazine analyzed data on heart disease, diabetes, crime and job-growth rates along with air pollution statistics and the availability of parks and other recreation facilities to determine that Charleston's was "America's Worst City for Men."

I was going to reply earlier, but the keyboard slipped off my lap and hit my big toe. Then, when I bent down to pick it up, I bumped my head on the post of my floor lamp. I was about to cry into a tissue, but it gave me a paper cut. I'm going to bed.

I think Rick Steelhammer needs to learn a little about statistics because Ranking 100th out of 100 means Charleston barely made the list.
I hate to say this, but Charleston is its own worst enemy when it comes to these lists.

And now, a dozen personal injury lawyers swoop down, hoping to win the lottery for you and for them.David Paleg wrote:I was going to reply earlier, but the keyboard slipped off my lap and hit my big toe.
