Coin operated elevators? I love it!

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Coin operated elevators? I love it!

Post by CoolBreeze »

Over in Georgia (Russia) they have some coin operated elevators in some high rises. Don't have a coin? WALK then! http://englishrussia.com/?p=5132#more-5132

Now I'm thinking: What a GREAT idea!

Everyone's looking for ways to make money while losing America's blubber at the same time. What better?
Course... if you have 10 people in an elevator, you'd have to figure out how to make them all pay.

If I were there. (I am not)
I would vandalize the elevator to the point that it would no
longer run or people would be too disgusted to enter it.
I suppose there would be a lot of people doing that.
I would then spray wd-40 on the stairs to make them glass slick.
People would fall and sue the building operator.
At some point in time the building owners would
cut their losses and return the elevators to free.

I would not really do that. It was just a random thought
od something that might happen. Like accidents to the
building owner's kids.

A bribe of a cheap bottle of wine to a homeless guy would get the job done.

It would be like pay toilets in the old days... people would get used to it.

Not just the old days. A laudromat on the west side charges 10 cents to use the rest room.

Camden Park was still charging in the bathroom last time I was there.
