Well, I can give you the "inside scoop" on it... Drs Goodnight (66% owner) and Sall (33%) are massive supporters of education initiatives. What was originally dubbed "SAS In School" was run, at a loss, and was never expected to be profitable. It was run solely for the purpose of educating children with actual EDUCATIONAL software, not video games with a faux education cover. (I got to do voice over work for one of the projects.) Curriculum pathways came along later.

(As an aside, Curriculum Pathways *NEVER* cost WV any money. A benefactor (whose name escapes me) had purchased it for the state, prior to the shift to "free".)

The owners also opened their own private school, called Cary Academy, which boasts a 1-1 ratio of computers to students.

They've also taken Centennial Middle School (public) under their wing, buying a Dell D520 laptop for every 8th grade student. There's more to this story in the works...

They donate hundreds of PC's, monitors and LCD's to public schools every year (not all in NC). (I've arranged two donations to Randolph County Schools over the last few years.)

And these are just the projects I've been involved in. The scope of their involvement, nationwide, is pretty expansive.

Just another example of those filthy Republicans and their money....

I teach in Tyler County, and we've had access to this for quite some time. For years, we've employed innovative technologies, and SAS (Curriculum Pathways) is a tool I'm planning on using much more this year.
