One Big Ass Concert

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

We have now learned Mrs. Thatcher won't be attending. She is sending some scientist who was part of her administration who says that global warming is a myth. As for the rest, Hank will charged them around 100 or 150 grand like he did with the Massey outing a couple of years ago, be a complete dick to everyone, refuse to sign autographs or even meet with anyone, play for 30 minutes (drunk) and leave.

What are the odds that Hank, Jr. could repeat the level of intoxication as Hank, Sr and die in the same state as his daddy.

And they'll all cheer "Clean coal! Clean coal!", hoping if they say it loud enough and long enough, it'll become real.

Has anyone ever been to this former strip mine location? What's the parking situation? It's my understanding that if you have four or more in your car, you can drive up and park. If not, you have to take a shuttle. I dont see anything about food. Free... charged... bring yer own? I also see that no alcohol is allowed.

Is this near the Twisted Gun golf course that's built on a strip mine site?

AT&T tower on the hill was called "Pickering Knob".
That is a geek fact.
If'n you go down to 22 Holden, the creek there is Pine Creek.
Follow Pine Creek to it's mouth and you are in Omar, WV.

if you take off the creek about 1/4 of the way down it takes you into whittman creek... if they have it opposite that site and instead have it over near where the jail is then just drop over the mountain into laurel lake state park after the show..

If Hannity is there, I expect some live television.
I also expect chaotic traffic jams.
How do they expect to keep alcohol out?
A riot would not be out of the question.

I doubt they'll try to keep it out, they probably just will not be selling it..... and as for traffic, massey did a good job ferrying people around by bus when they had their company party in the middle of Logan, dont see why they wouldnt do the same.

Is this concert open to everybody, or just Massey employees?

Chaos, maybe riot.
2 lane road out to wood plant area.
one way in, one way out.
Unless you go down pine creek to Omar.
I guess you could bring a train all the way to 22 Holden town.
I see a stream of cars from Pikeville and further forming.
McCoy Kin mostly.
Woodstock on a strip mine, with firearms.
Logan general Hospital is probably reviewing it's mass casualty plans.
one good thing is that most of these people have been drunk at night on a strip mine
at one time on other. Jail is close too, that's good.

hell, most people have partied in the exact spot where that concert is gonna be held... I know I have... They could get a train back there though, the track is still there and in use, they could funnel the traffic leaving the event through pine creek, whittman, or back onto 119 considering there's road access to each of those outlets (they just have to open the gates). (lotta hatfield kin in mingo these days). Logan general is a sorry excuse for a first aid station also... I wouldnt send pets there let alone a living human being. Crowd control and security will be the biggest issues, mainly because of jurisdiction (hope i spelled that right) the sites in question are technically located in multiple counties (off duty deputies or state cops maybe).

Expect artists, and Hannity, to be helicoptered in.
I could bring my Akron friends, but I'd need plausible deniability after.

VFW, American Legion, motorcycle clubs and the KKK will do the security.
Actually, they are the deputies.
If they are not too drunk.

I didn't know there was a road to Whitman creek (Whitmans, as they say locally). (or 7 and 8)
I lived in Logan area a long time, but have never been to head of Whitman.
I traveled to 22 Holden a lot. Just for fun.
My dad lived in Chauncey till his death. Sort of across from the water plant.
