I did not know this

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

I did not know this

Post by genlock »

Before his slaughter spree, Manson tried to launch a music career by hanging out with Doris Day's record-producer son, Terry Melcher, and Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys. The Beach Boys ended up recording two Manson songs -- one eerily titled "Cease To Exist," which the group changed to "Never Learn To Love." Melcher enraged Manson by severing ties and the maniac sent his gang to kill Melcher, whose former address was where Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate were living. The maniacs ended up killing Tate and four others on Aug. 9, 1969.

Manson actually lived with Dennis Wilson for a period of time also.
Basically, Manson's entire murder spree was due to his resentment over not becoming a rock star.

Yes, he managed to get into the inner circle. The other members of the Beach Boys thought he was just another kook.

Interesting side note: Both Manson and Sara Jane Moore (who shot at President Gerald Ford) lived on Woodward Drive in North Charleston. One of Manson's followers, Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme also tried to kill Ford. It have been in the water on Woodward Drive....

Maybe Manson's uncle needed killin'.
That would make it kinda legal there.

Along with most counties in southern WV.

Here is an interesting thread I found about Manson living in Morehead, KY and Grahn, KY.

FWIW: Grahn is to KY what Littleton is to WV. Not Meathouse Fork or Stinkin' Branch (now Sunshine Hollow) in Pike County.
