topic of rumor... found....

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Lets be careful out there...

A video that shows popular ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews in the nude in a hotel room made its way onto several Web sites and may contain a link to a virus in a Trojan horse that could be downloaded by users.

If so, it would be the second time in recent weeks where a celebrity's name was used to pique user interest and distribute malware, software that is malicious.

I took a chance. I watched the video.
This is an important historical video,
like Washington crossing the Delaware.

In short: if a website asks you to install a CODEC to watch the video, it's a scam site. This one is flash, and despite the website name, is a trustworthy source.

Begin debate of ethical ramifications of said video. And let me know if you find the Crystal Defanti video while you're at it. :-)

At least I haven't heard of any of the links leading to RickRolling.

If we find the Barbara Walters sex tape, you may punt that.

Lets talk technology.
How was it done?
Peep-hole installed backwards on the door?
Peephole with glass removed?
Wireless web-cam? That's my guess.

The camera is moving, guided by the operator. I'd say removed or fake door peephole.

As to Paris and Chyna... they knew video was rolling... this girl had NO clue what was going on. You can argue whether releasing Paris' sextape was an invasion of privacy, there is no argument here. This is wrong.

Cool... but wrong. :-)

The camera has a out of focus circular halo around the main picture.
This could be the effect of the thickness of the door and the aperture of the hole in the door.
Stand in the hall, wait for the shower to stop, start recording.
Someone had probably loosened the peephole earlier for removal at that time.
I would suspect the hotel staff (security and maid staff).

Access to the room would be needed to loosen the peephole.
Information would be needed in advance as to which room Ms Andrews would occupy.
Some sort of cover story would be needed to explain standing in the hall at someones room.
A hotel security badge would do.
Perhaps Ms Andrews was assigned a specific room.
Was any information given as to which city this incident took lace in? Which hotel?
I wonder if this has happened before at this hotel?

I call bullshit.

If you watch closely (and I have...many, many, times) it seems like she's posing. I dunno, something tells me it's all for publicity.
