Any One Else Have This Problem

I have Direct TV, and when watching WSAZ the audio drops out for about 30 sec. No problem on any other channel.

I have Dish, and have the same audio problem with WSAZ. The audio drops especially during the news. Also have had audio drop during local programming when in commercial breaks.

I have Direct TV and have the same problem as well, but I notice it especially going into NBC,
it clips out about 5 to 10 sec of audio, just enough to drive you nuts trying to watch a show.

I guess WSAZ's engineering needs to look at their audio processor. It is clipping down causing this problem.

I have the same problem here in NC with Time Warner Cable but only on the HD channels. Wonder if it could be a bandwidth problem?

I don't see(hear) this problem on Suddenlink cable.
Maybe it is a problem with some format conversion at the
pick-up point/ transmission point.
Is the market leader aware of the problem?

I tend to watch channel 8 anymore.
13 is unwatchable and 3 is so far ahead they don't care anymore.
13 seems very structured to the point that there is some sort of tension.
I think that is what I feel when watching them. The anchors and others do not seem at ease.
8 has problems but not like 13 or the frequent technical problems at 3.
For Huntington web news the Herald-Dispatch has gotten very good at breaking stuff.
3 is next and 13 lags on the web. 8 might as well not try as their website is some sort of
autoload from associated press. Huntington news net is sometimes a day late.

8's website has had the same look for a long long time now.. I never cared for channel 3's news after i moved back to this state, I just pity the people at 13... and well channel 8

I know some of e WBNS people. That is a class operation.
Like WRAL, they are owned by local people and their newspaper.
Like WSAZ use to be, years ago.

I think the problem lay in switching in and out of HD. Like most stations, they probably bypass the studio when passing network HD programming. When they switch back to local, there are sync issues. This is an industry-wide problem. It is nearly impossible to get a seamless switch.

Also, I believe Dish and DirecTV share a common "head-end," which is in the old Fox 11 building in Hurricane. They receive the locals and then uplink/downlink from a common bird.

You seem to be describing an occurrence that I noticed a while back...but not so much now...with WDTV. The audio would drop out...mainly during the news or other local programming. Not as frequent as it was, and I am, or should I say "was", watching on Time-Warner Cable while this was happening. Also the green "splotches" would appear in and out of local programming segues. Always used to see it happen once every evening on "Jeopardy!" on WBOY...and then more frequently on local stuff on 5.

The only thing in common is their location, they actually have separate uplinks to each provider...
