CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia allows more mercury in fish than the federal government recommends, but environmental regulators say that's OK.
Since West Virginians eat less fish than the national average, they're at less risk of developing health problems caused by mercury, says the Department of Environmental Protection.
The more fish people consume, the stricter mercury limits must be, Mike Arcuri, with DEP's water quality standards program, said Monday at a public meeting. But if people eat less, he said, concentrations of mercury in fish tissue can be a little higher.
Location makes a difference: Walleye caught in Summersville Lake should only be eaten six times a year because of mercury, while catfish from the same lake should be eaten only once a month. And black bass from Sutton Lake should be eaten only once a month.

You just reminded me of a bit that I did years ago. It was the day that the "planets aligned", or something like that. I'm getting ready to go into my final song and my "goodbye" went something like this:
"Well, I'm going home now. As the Mercury is steady at 67 degrees...listening to Frankie Avalon sing 'Venus'...wearing my Earth Shoes...eating a Mars bar...driving my Saturn...which my sister, who lives in Jupiter helped me purchase...she married a Neptune...she's a big fan of Pluto..................and seeing as how this a family show, I'm NOT going to talk about Uranus!"
As you were...

Let me guess, Scott...
The tune you were leading into when you did this was "Here Comes the Sun," right?
(For what it's worth, a planetary syzygy is not as much a "Space Oddity" as one might think. At any rate, 67 degrees would have made it, indeed, a marvelous night for a "Moondance.")
