Terrible allergy season

Everybody in Philly has been complaining about the allergies. (Knock on wood) I have not been affected, but my black car was yellow from tree pollen when I left it parked outside last Saturday night near Valley Forge. Pollen in the city has not been quite as bad which probably been my saving grace this year.

I hope it is not bad when I go home later this summer.

I had one bad day when I was outside doing the weed eating and stuff like that. Aside from that one day, though, I've been good.

Last week in Nashville I saw pollen in the air that looked like snow flurries.

Its the same thing here....pollen that looks like flying dustbunnies...
So far so good for me...I usually get massive sinus/allergy headaches and I've been alright...so far.

How much longer do we have tree pollen season. I washed my car at 1:00 pm yesterday and it had a light yellow haze by this morning.

June should be easier to keep it less dusty.

I've had similar thoughts. Just like food allergies. Both of my children have someone in their class with an allergy to milk and an allergy to peanuts. What the hell? When I was in school, every beating heart in the classroom drank either white or chololate milk, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were a staple of the lunchroom. No one got sick. No one died. No one carried an Epi-Pen to auto-inject themselves before they collapsed in an anaphalyxis-induced respiratory arrest. There were no draconian notes from the school taken home, warning every child and parent that someone in the class had a food allergy and no one would be allowed to eat or drink this item in or around the school. So what the hell happened?

I remember few kids with allergies when I was in elementary school...

If anything, the kids who had real health problems were the exceptions to the rule. And the teachers made sure everyone knew who they were.



Nowdays, everyone's at least taking pills... They should just put Ativan in the school water supply.

These kids REALLY ARE sick with allergies, and they weren't a generation or two ago.

Arp is right. Not enough kids eating dirt. My dad used to say, " You'll eat 7 pounds of dirt in your lifetime, but you don't need to do it all at one sitting".

He really used to say that.
