RIP Don Browning
For those who may remember him or may have worked with him, Don Browning died at the age of 50 Wednesday night. Don worked at WVOW and WLOG in Logan, plus he had stints at WKAZ and WQBE. Don was an interesting character, to say the least. Nunley, Conley Big John and I all worked with him at one time or another.

No, Don was strictly radio...when he wasn't being a pro wrestler.

Re: RIP Don Browning
If you believed Don about anything, he was also the second man to walk on the moon, he played the 4th Douglas brother on "My Three Sons" for one season, invented "backtiming", was a 2nd generation Cherokee Indian, and is a distant cousin to a one Mr. Gill Gerard.
I had not seen Don for many years, but will never forget him. He was an entertaining lie in a world full of boring truths. He made his own Corn Flakes. He will forever live as Van Vader and Don Douglas in our hearts and memories.
Thoo thoo thoo thoo. This all makes me very sad.

Re: RIP Don Browning
Dave,
I am in Findlay, Ohio with my new wife. Moved here a little over a month ago. Not a bad place, but work does not come easily. I was in Logan over the weekend and started to pop in and say hi. I just had all my kids (your sisters and brothers) with me. Besides I never know where you are living from week to week. Home or your booty call apartment?
If you attend Don's funeral, please give my condolances to his son and family. If, by chance, Gill Gerard shows up.. get me an autograph.

Re: RIP Don Browning
Didn't make it to the funeral since half of southern WV and eastern KY got washed away and I was on flood reporting duties (still am). Congrats on the new wife. What are you trying to do...catch up with my mom by having double digit weddings?
Gen, I have the pictures you want...I just never knew you could get a donkey to do that.

Re: RIP Don Browning
Don played minor league baseball and once was called up to play the end of a season with the Reds.
He also did some photography work for Penthouse and Hustler and at least twenty other things that were amazing.
Some of the things he did for real is teach me how to run a control board, how to cue up a record, and not to record over the splice on a cart.
I'm not sure if his death saddens me because he is gone or another piece of my youth is gone.
In any case, I hope all the things he told us he did while he was alive he is actually doing in the afterlife.
