CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Boone County is the only one of West Virginia's 55 counties where the average weekly wage exceeds the national average.
Federal figures released Monday show the average weekly wage in Boone County in the third quarter of 2008 was $851. The national average for the period was $841.
The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics says Wirt County's average weekly wage of $385 was the lowest in West Virginia.

Only two people work in Boone County, one makes $1251 running the bank branch, the other one's a teller making $451. Numbers lie.
