It doesn't matter what side you're on, it's about the context of one's message.

I'll share a story: At the church I used to go to back in late October, we were having a Bible Study, and of course somehow the election got brought up. A person stated that these events that are taking place were like the events of "Left Behind." Just because some dude (who happened to be black) was popular and people were cheering his name. Keep in mind "Left Behind" is a FICTIONAL story based on the Book of Revelations. I'll say it again....FICTIONAL....STORY!! Another woman said in all sincerity, "I heard if he gets elected he'll make us all wear towels on our heads."

I kid you not.

My girlfriend (who happens to be black...*SHOCK!*) once asked me if I wanted children. I told her yes, but wasn't sure about bringing in a child in a world like this. Sure, life isn't perfect...but this is 2009, not 1959. Haven't we evolved yet?

In your heart of hearts, can you honestly say that you dislike Obama because of his politics, or the color of his skin?

Or, let me put it to you like this: If Beyonce' were to come up to some of you and say she wants to suck you off...would you let her?

I'd say ALL of you would.

And that my friends, is called hypocrisy.

I don't dislike President Obama as a person.
By all accounts, I believe he's a good husband and father.
I believe he loves the U.S. and wants to serve the country to the best of his ability.
I just don't agree with some of his ideas and policies. Based on that, I didn't vote for the man to be president.
Right now there are way too many personal attacks from both sides - libs and conservatives.
Some libs claim that any criticism of Pres. Obama, his ideology and policies is based on race. Might be true in some cases, but certainly not all.
Some conservatives are nit-picking, harping on non-essential things.
It seems the squeakiest (?) wheels are the only ones we hear from, though.

I think Obama has a beautiful family. Michelle will be an insanely popular First Lady. The girls are adorable.

I don't care that they are black.

I voted for Obama not so much that he was a great candidate, but because the McCain/Palin ticket was beyond terrible. But now, we got what we got, so I have to live with my decision. We were screwed either way.

1. God created one man and one woman. The rest of us come from that. That means that as long as Lester's girlfriend is a girl, no matter what color, he's basically got everything in order.

2. Given #1, if you dislike another race, color, or nationality, you are basically disliking yourself.

3. There we NO good choices for President in 2008. It's just that we ended up with a greater case of inability than we could have...but probably not by as much as most Conservatives would want to believe.

4. It is "Revelation", because even though there are many in "it", "it" is one.

Well, for one, you appear to view everything and everyone through "race" and "racism" lenses when most of us don't give it a second thought.....heck, maybe not even a first thought. Also, you appear to be projecting the attitudes of some in your tristate area on everyone all across the country.

And, no, I wouldn't let Beyonce perform any act on me. And, no, it wouldn't be because of her race....sheesh!
