Parallel parking... a lost art

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Parallel parking... a lost art

Post by CoolBreeze »

Due to the advanced age of most drivers in WV, it's very common for little old ladies to cream the car in front or in back as they attempt to parallel park. So far, my car has been struck 5 times while parked, with total damages of $6000. I see this almost every day and so today I decided to video just one.... enjoy!

you could blame it on parallel parking, I find a common problem in especially the charleston area is people buying cars that are too big for the owners to properly drive..like the old bat in the suv featured in your video..

Ummm... "old bat" is a little harsh. We prefer "Optically Challenged".

lol, optically challenged has nothing to do with it. some people just cant drive large vehicles and some people cant drive small ones. it amazes me she couldnt hear the crunching of her wheels on that car but that little cam of yours caught it and caught it quite well at what, 25-30feet away? old bat stands..

Big SUV my ass. That is a medium sized Disco LR3 which is about the size of a Commander/Grand Cherokee and smaller than a Tahoe, Surburban, Expedition, and Durango. (I just test drove a Hemi Durango and that is a beast of a auto that is more difficult to control than the Tahoe/Yukon. Expedition is just too damn big.)

As far a parallel parking.... I park that way every night and I have no problem in my land yacht. In fact, I bought another party barge on wheels because it is so maneuverable (and safer) when compared to the new offerings by Chrysler and GM. And then we wonder why Ford is the only automaker that is surviving?????
