It's interesting, because the story says phosphates were banned in laundry detergent in 1993.

I don't remember back that far, but did the detergents get clothes more clean back then than they do now? If not, what did they use to replace the phosphates? Could they just add that to dish detergent?

I'm all for being eco-friendly, but this is what happens when this stuff is mandated... Not to mention that you have to use more water to make up for the phosphates.

If you prohibit the use of the real dish detergent in commercial operations--as well as in the home, you increase the risk of disease.

Effective fresh water treatment can soften the water without the use of salt. Effective sewage treatment can remove the phosphates before the gray water is returned to the environment. But that would cost the city, the politicians want solutions that don't eat into their budget.

The enviros would actually LIKE to see more human death. There are some of them are so batshit crazy they think that the population needs to shrink by 80-90%!

How much you wanna bet that if you peeked into the homes of the leftist democrat politicians and activists you'd find boxes of Cascade used by their servants to clean THEIR dishes?

Well, I always figured that the far left would put us out of their misery eventually through attrition alone, in that they tend to be the ones who have the abortions, who don't marry, and wait to have children generally until it's too late. Conservatives on the other hand tend to get married and to have more children because they believe in life.

But that's not enough apparently.

I invite those who believe in all this eco doom and gloom to do their part to save the planet: Go have a hysterectomy or a vasectomy.

FYI, a fascinating aside, from the Mark Steyn book "America Alone" which is a MUST READ, which examines the demographic trends of massive muslim immigration into Europe along with their collapsed birth rate, also examined the US. The United States, overall, is the ONLY Western country that is actually having enough kids to replace our population. However, that trend is uneven. Birth rates far exceed replacement rate in the conservative "red" states but more resemble Europe's suicidally LOW birth rates in the "blue" states.
