Actually, that's irrelevant. It's just the radio tie-in.
Just wanted to let everyone know that Corner Gas gets double the shows starting this week -- three Monday nights / Tuesday mornings starting at 4am eastern and now Tuesday nights / Wednesday mornings at the same times. Now, you might be saying, "Six a week? Would I want six a week of a sitcom? Enough to watch one almost everyday?" Absolutely!
It might just be the neatest sitcom you've never seen. You might just become addicted to it. You might just become deperate to bit-torrent the season WGN America hasn't signed for. You might just begin to ponder a move to Saskatchewan (where unemployment is still virtually nonexistant, by the way) but wonder why you can't find a "Dog River." (I know where it is, of course.)
At the very least, you might just say, "Heh...those chicks are pretty hot. Even that one, in her own way."
Now, the shows this week aren't the first. You'll be jumping in in the middle (roughly with the second season), but that's really of no matter. You'll learn the characters quickly because you can feel free to take them all at face value. That's not to say you won't find out humorous and fascinating things about them along the way...it's just to say they're like stonewashed jeans in that they're exactly what they look like are and are comfortable the first time you put them on. If you're in or from a small town, you might especially be amused.
And, in the "Poor Brent" episode that airs tonight, you'll hear and learn excellent delivery of lines like, "Who can pee standing up?" "Well, I didn't think you were carrying a wrinkled purse," and "'Who was she?' 'Heh heh...I don't know.'"
Give it a try.......make a former radio guy's TV decision a success!
