Another change at ConnMedia, hit the snooze button quick

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

Another change at ConnMedia, hit the snooze button quick

Post by Bar Rat »

I don't listen to the station, so I'll have to ask. Is there anyone going to be left locally (or even voicetracked) but J.B.? Delilah is such a damn bore. And I can't imagine John Tesh would be better.

It's sounding like 97.9 is going to be Muzak revisited.

"Delilah" to be added to Magic 97.9 lineup

HUNTINGTON — Magic 97.9 has announced that the nationally syndicated radio show Delilah will be added to its programming beginning Monday, March 23. The show will air from 7 p.m. to midnight every night.

"Delilah has a long history of proven success within our format,” said J.B. Miller, Magic 97.9 program director. “Her message is a hopeful one in tenuous times that blends well with our direction in other day parts. We're all excited to have Delilah every night of the week.”

Delilah is syndicated by Premiere Radio Networks on more than 200 radio stations in the U.S. and Canada.

To make room for Delilah, Magic 97.9 will move the popular John Tesh Radio Show to follow Miller in the Morning from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday thru Saturday.

Magic 97.9 is owned and operated by Connoisseur Media and is located at 919 5th Ave., Suite 210 in Huntington.

In West Virginia, it's pronounced 'Duh-LIE-lur'....at least that's the way Ducky Crabtree would say it.....

If understanding is correct, Tesh produces 5 programs per week off the bird and a best of Sunday show. I read these stations that move him pick his cuts from a site and basically voice track him into their automation using locally generated music. Someone stop me if I am informed incorrectly.

Is Seacrest done the same way? I never hear Ryan "sell" a song.

Delilah is horrible radio. But I don't have a vagina, nor am I obsessed with why I'm in my middle 30's and unmarried. I guess you have to be of the gender that "gets" "Thelma and Louise" to enjoy Delilah.

I hate the program too, but Delilah represents the demographic all the sales and programming gods want to have attached to their station.

Translators are a Pox on the FM radio dial.
