Fred Persinger

Post by soccerguy »

I was running some errands the other day and had on ESPN 1490 hoping to hear ESPN programming. Instead, I heard the WV Girls State Basketball Tournament. First thought was..."Oh Crap!".

As I went for the off button, I began to notice Fred Persinger doing the play-by-play. I actually listened for the next 20 minutes to a basketball game featuring two teams I had no interest in.

Fred has a unique gift for making a game interesting and entertaining. VERY few people have that talent....especially in WV.

Excellent job Fred!

Any streaming audio?

I always enjoy good play-by-play, particularly local.

I spent this past weekend with the folks in Buckhannon, and spent most of my time listening to those games...wow...amazing how I was drawn in to something that I really would not have given a crap about...the production value, the content, the presentation of those games...I was amazed...it sounded as if I was listening to a major college or professional sports radio network...good work 'gang.

Marshall should hire him to do their play by play...But I'm sure he making more money with
WVRC than they would be willing to pay..With his talent of making the games sound interesting if
would certainly help when Marshall is getting blown out..
