I am not picking on anyone.... how many stations monitor WDGG as their primary EAS FM?

How long has their engineer been there? A decade? It's obvious that this guy doesn't know what he's doing. I'd be banging on the owner's desk until I got a way to stay on the air. Hey dumbasses? Ever thought of a generator? Kindred may be useless, but it sounds like their engineer doesn't care or have a clue. Off the air during Marshall? Unacceptable.

If he hadn't thought of a generator by now, I'd fire his ass. There's loads of TALENTED engineers I'm sure are better that this *uck. Kindred would be better for it.

Umm ... they got proposals for a turnkey backup power system but can't install it at their studio due to some kind of snafu in the lease and with the building owners. Already been discussed here.

With so few responses that tells you how many people really knew Marshall basketball was off the air, or even cared. Mr. Nunely has a fit with sports being on a strong FM since it does not fit the programming format but in this case, even the programmed format could not, or would not, have went over the air either. BUT - who knew??

I hope there isn't a power outage during the C-USA tournament games that Marshall is in..Either
at the studio or transmitters sites..would be a shame for Kindred....

I have no problem with sports on FM. I had a problem with sports and sports talk shows on The Planet based on the particular competitive matrix of the marketplace at that time. I think Marshall sports on WDGG is both good programming and good revenue. Trust me, if UK sports increased my ratings back in the day instead of costing me major TSL while gaining me zero cume I would have aired every single feature and program Host offered and would have added local shows too. Back then I looked at 5 books worth of hour by hour numbers that showed listening dropped to almost zero when UK sports were on the air. It would take two or three days to recover to normal usage levels. It was worse during basketball season because there were two or three games a week. UK basketball is very popular with 1/3 the potential audience, but they did not listen to it on WRVC. They watched it on TV or listened to it on the 500,427,211 other sources available.

With Marshall's level of play in both football and basketball the last five years it should be relegated to 930 and the internet...

A 100KW signal should not be used for sports...years ago before they got on the bird they need that signal to relay Marshall sport to other markets...today it's not needed.
If you can't sell the format with regular programming find one you can..you shouldn't be carrying sports...even Nascar is a waste on radio with every race on TV..
That's one reason the Dawg will never be #1...especially in a Fall book...
