Faith Hill's performance was canned. Pre-taped. All the vocals were done in the studio. Jennifer Hudson's performance kicked ass. But it was canned as well.

Indeed, but still, especially for Faith, she did a creditable job on the recording (I know a producer who has worked with her, and, yes, she does require a bit of "help" on occasion). I'm pleased that Jennifer didn't try to out-do so many other singers who have done the NA before her.

<sigh> It would be nice to hear how the so-called "stars" of today would hold up to the kind of pressure that comes with performing live at the Super Bowl. All they have to do now is be photogenic (and not all do that particularly well).
