Shock Till You Drop is reporting that producer Brad Fuller has confirmed that Platinum Dunes is ready to produce the reboot of A Nightmare on Elm Street. When asked about the vision of the new movie, Fuller stated, "It's not Freddy cracking jokes. We want to make a horrifying movie. The concept is so scary, don't fall asleep or you'll die. This guy gets you when you're most vulnerable, in your sleep. We love that. That's the basis of the movie. It'll be most similar to the first one but in terms of kills and dreams we'll borrow from the entire series."
Shooting of the film could begin as soon as the spring of 2009, and Fuller has already stated that Robert Englund would not be back for the movie. The role of Freddy will be recast.
