Blagojevitch Situation

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Blagojevitch Situation

Post by genlock »

I think if I were in the spot that the Illinois Governor has found himself in, I would either name myself Senator or name some
citizen that is not a politician and has not idea that he/she could be Senator. Looks like the feds have a tight case
On the Governor so why not have a little fun with the system? Mike Ditka for Senator!

This might be a way to get rid of Rex Grossman.

A huge majority of Philadelphia's citizen would love to see Chicago's favorite son, Donovan McNabb, named as the new Illinois senator.

But dammit.... That still leaves Andy Reid as GM/Head Coach.

My favorite quote on Conan last night during a skit about looking at the up side of certain news stories:

Glass Half Empty: "Illinois Governor Rod Blagoyevitch was arrested for blatantly trying to sell a seat in the U.S. Senate."

Glass Half Full: "Sarah Palin is no longer the dumbest governor in America."
Anthony DiNozzo: "I'm a white male between the ages of 18 and 49 with a loud mouth and a gun. I am the American Dream."

"Any technology, no matter how primitive, is magic to those who don't understand it" - Ambrose's Corollary to Clarke's Third Law.

If you want to see the dumbest governor in America, check CNBC's website for Ohio's Ted Strickland on Squawk Box this morning......even worse than your Manchin's appearance some time back.......

And spokespeople keep denying he has Parkinson's or MS, so he's obviously scared bleep-less when getting questions that require actual answers, not just mere recitation of the drafted talking points....

....even though that's what he did....er, tried......

And the CNBC folks were even being very lenient and friendly......

As far as Blagojevitch goes, what do you people expect? This is who Democrats simply are......

Nothing illegal.
I just have a real problem with how he conducted himself in unseating Max Cleland.
It seems some people have no shame.

Is your entire list made up of people that did nothing wrong, other than piss you off, or are some of them actual elected officials that got caught doing something illegal?

My only point was to correct the notion that only Democrats (or liberals, libs, left-wingers, or whatever code words are used) are unethical politicians. They come in all shapes, sizes, and political affiliations. As far as I'm concerned, Blagojevitch needs to go. Yesterday, if at all possible.

All the people I listed (except for Chambliss) are Republicans who were indicted for or pled guilty to felonies while in office, or appeared on the "most corrupt politicians" list at the National level. I'm just sayin' ...

Well.... Jack Abramhoff was supplying both sides with money and, to my knowledge, not an elected official.

Feel free to replace him with Wally Barron.

Rod wanted $1,200,000 from a union for doing no work, and his "request" seemed not a bit unusual to anyone involved. Where does (or would) that money come from, HD?
